Chables and Tairs: Raku fired stoneware tiles on concrete. 2007.
This project was a collaborative design under taken by five (slightly overambitious) classmates in the winter of '07. We each designed a pattern of tiles to cover "Chables" (the four squares on the sides), with a single pattern tile covering the "Tairs" (short semi-circular pedastals located between the chables). The center table was covered in larger tiles made of glass and ceramic donated by the teachers & students of the 3D art annex. It was completed in about a month, using about 400lbs of concrete.
